Sunday Stamps #4

This stamp came to me on a Postcrossing postcard from Latvia.  I don't know what it is commemorating, but I suspect it is the Soviet Occupation of Latvia, given the dates of 1941 - 1991.

This is a vintage birthday postcard, but I'd like to extend this sentiment to everyone visiting this blog.  Happy Thanksgiving, and may you have a happy holiday season.

Happy PFF: Chinese stamps

Thank you to our hostess Beth at The Best Hearts are Crunchy for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday. Click on the link to see who else is playing!

Today I am sharing some stamps from China.  These came as part of a sheet and my Postcrossing friend included some of the artwork not actually worth money.  Isn't that neat?  The artwork is amazingly detailed!
A question for someone who knows: Are these peahens? Chinese pheasants?  Just wondering!

Happy Postcard Friendship Friday!

Sunday stamps #3

Another card from Postcrossing.  Leave it to the Russians to put famous guns on stamps.  Those are not AK-47's but earlier versions.
And then something as simple as a bicycle, no gears, nothing fancy.

Postcard Friendship Friday: A church in Springfield MA

Trinity M.E. Church, Springfield Mass.  A lovely linen postcard, used.
Now known as Trinity United Methodist Church.  Looking at their website, a congregation very active in their community.

Sunday Stamps

It is a rare thing at our house to get a postcard from the Sultanate of Oman.  This one came from ShiSia through Postcrossing.  Only card # 168 from Oman.

Postcard Friendship Friday: Good Harbor Beach

Good Harbor Beach and Thatchers Lights, Gloucester, Mass.

I picked this card today because it's warm enough here (and in November!) to actually think about going to the beach.  And I like the different colors in the sky in this postcard.  I am pretty busy this week so I don't have time to add much - except that these folks look a tad overdressed for the beach!
